Heterochromia – The Eyes Have It … scientific Caturday fact
ArkInSpace.com – "There are a number of reasons why animals can have one eye of one color and the second of another, but the term for the most likely cause is heterochromia. It is more often than not to do with melanin. … Heterochromia occurs when there is either an excess or a lack of melanin. … Complete heterochromia is seen often in animals such as cats and dogs. It almost always involves the affected eye appearing blue in color. … the cat species which seem to be affected are the Turkish Van and Angora. The odd-eyed cats tend to be white or mostly white and with one normal eye and one blue eye …" more: http://www.arkinspace.com/2011/04/heterochromia-eyes-have-it.html

Read MoreIt's our first Thanksgiving together here in the Googlesphere and I have to say, after having a brief respite from G+ lately, I am grateful for the connections and friendships I have built here. Rarely does a social network provide such valuable relationships for me on a daily basis but I feel that here, have much gratitude for it, and miss it when I am busy living with my family and friend peeps. My hopes are that all of you will be blessed in the coming days, feel much appreciation from me, and know you are valued deeply. May the turkey, or ham, or gumbo be fine, may no one go without, and may you know I send ((((((hugs))))))) your way.

Read MoreWow! Totally blessed birthday today! I'll say this for FB, they are one up on Google+ for helping share the love on a birthday day. As much as I hate to get older, I totally felt surrounded by much love and friendship, for that I am blessed. My best friend baked me the best birthday cake ever, two loaves of homemade sourdough bread. It's gifts like these, made at home with simple ingredients, that mean the most to me. I carved our a hole and we lit a candle, such a fun way to celebrate my "born day." Just now coming up for air and I see I missed the roll out of brand pages and lots of juicy fun stuff here. After Friday, which is the day we celebrate our First Anniversary for our gallery, Art(ology), I will come up for air and be able to hang out in the Googlesphere. I have missed YOU, the conversation, the friendship, and so grateful that this social network is still my favorite place to call home. Peace friends, be blessed and loved tonight!

Read MoreIn preps for a larger piece, understanding how the texture and opacity changes between layers and coats is important, and working in small format helps me 'play around' with a new technique until I am well adept and knowing how it will behave on canvas. This mixed media study is only 8" by 10" and I am happy with the journey it took me on but already have in mind what I will change on the larger piece. There are things I love and hate about it, but the process itself is what was the goal here. "He Loves Me" 8" by 10" Mixed Media on Board

Read MoreDo you celebrate your birthday or let it go by with the wind? I have always been one to love a celebration, especially a birthday one, and the older I get the more I LOVE embracing the fact that I have been given one more year to love life. This pic is from many moons ago and I was quite silly back then, not much has changed really. With the beginning of November I start my birthday month! One of my besties calls herself the birthday ho, because she celebrates for 30 days as well. I say, here is to one more blessed year, let the bubbly start to flow and be prepared for some wild and crazy pics to follow over the course of the month. How do you all celebrate your birthdays? Now that I am over the 40 year old hump, actually several humps, I am up for suggestions as to how to live life large! If you had to stay in town, couldn't blow a huge budget, but wanted to celebrate with family and/or friends, what would you consider to be a grand way to celebrate?

Day 122 – Patchwork of Parts
My grandmother made quilts and to this day they are some of my most loved possessions. It's not that they are so elaborate or fine, but she used random, pieced together squares to make simple, beautiful quilts. Today I thought about her, those simple pieces, and the beauty she created with them. Compared to many quilts hers wouldn't be all that grand, but to me, they are priceless. I think the parts of us that make us unique are kind of like that. They may seem simple to most, but when pieced together to make us 'whole', we are unlike any other…. as a beautifully simple work of art. My prayer today is for every one to eventually realize how unique and priceless they are, even when the parts may not seem to match. May they see themselves as beautiful beyond measure.

Read MoreA few days ago I saw a post from someone sharing a link where one can take an illustration or a painting of theirs and animate it into a storybook for the ipad or a tablet. Do any of you know which program does this or have access to that post. I can't find it for the life of me?
