If you take a minute to follow the +Found Baby project here on Google+, you can read about her and the journey she is on to teach the world that beauty comes from within, not without. Delphine is a special addition to the Found Baby project as she will represent children living with Cancer and dealing with the loss of their hair through treatments. Found Baby Hates SOPA too!
Wow! Arly was in a tizzy over trying to stop some soap, which I was like…"What the hay?", then she explained to me that it wasn't soap, but SOPA. I still just shook my head because I didn't get it. So Arly sat me down and showed me some websites like Google, Wikipedia, and Firefox along with explaining what SOPA was all about. As much as I don't wan't my pictures stolen, I don't think this is such a great idea at all. If I was censored, it would be like being put back in the dirt all over again. Arly said she signed the petition through Google in honor of me, since they most likely wouldn't take too kindly to a a doll having an opinion.

You can sign it too if you choose!

When Google+ first started I shared my +Found Baby project with you all, quite hesitantly…

When Google+ first started I shared my +Found Baby project with you all, quite hesitantly at first, because I was reluctant to put her in such a large audience, as she is sensitive about her looks. Despite those fears, her story, her images, and her impact where nonetheless profound and I am grateful for those of you who have embraced her. Now that pages are a reality, I was able to create her own +Found Baby page where she will keep us updated about her journey, through photography and the written word, with links to her website where her chronological story is kept. I have decided that she will also be taking many new Google+ field trips in hangouts this year as well and I look forward to watching this creative project evolve through Google+. If you are a new follower, please read the intro to The Unforgettable Journey of Found Baby below and if you are intrigued, consider following her page. Her story is one of triumph and courage, despite living in a world that judges ugly faces, especially ugly dolls, harshly.

+miriam dunn thanks for the push!

New Followers…..Meet Found Baby!
Have you ever come across an object and realized it just might have been your destiny to find it? Found Baby was like that for me. Last year, as I was walking on our 42 acres in the woods, next to an abandoned still, and found a doll half buried, face down. When I pulled her from the dirt, I realized she was no ordinary doll. She was strange looking, disfigured, and 50 years old. I began photographing her at first, because her face was drawn to the lens, and then I realized from the reaction of people she had a greater story to tell. Found Baby was meant to be found and I was meant to tell her story. When you see her images, at first you might see an ordinary doll. I ask that you look past that. Give her story, and the one of her friends, a chance to be told. It just might make you reconsider your concept of beauty.

The Incredible Journey of Found Baby is a photographic, fictional narrative from the view point of this doll and the two others I found. The story of how she was found is true. Her story from there is one I have created based on my photography and how the world has reacted to seeing this doll and her friends. My hopes are that as I write about her journey, her story of courage, triumph, and survival, will resonate with people/ She is especially fond of those who have ever felt ugly, been abused, are disfigured, or burned. Her story is a tragic but beautiful one. I wanted to share her here on Google+ because she is my way of showing the world there is a different side to beauty, one that is internal, and we can all embrace that. She also stands as an advocate for children who have been abused. Will you take this journey with her, follow as it evolves, and consider sharing it with someone you might feel that Found Baby can root for?

She is a work in progress, as we all are. But I feel her work….is beautiful. You can follow her story on her blog here: www.foundbaby.net
