Green – The Color of Life

This is what I love about nature, its ability to show me outrageous joy when I least expect it. This beautiful little creek was a new one to find on our property, surrounded by thatch, decay, tree knuckles and swamp snot. As far as I could see hues of brown and age covered most of the area until we walked up and found this. Such a beautiful showing of color, freshness, and life! I will carry this joy of this spot with me all day.

I have always been fascinated by splash photography

Not sure if it is the light, the design, or the fact that this beauty exists without our human eye being able to capture it. Regardless, I am grateful artists like +Alex Koloskov found a way, so that this type of beauty can be shared. It is so incredibly mesmerizing to me.

History of our signature shot
This is probably one of our first liquid shots. It was captured 6-7 years ago, using only 2 speedites, and that time I had no idea that it will become our signature shot:-)
Several years later I created a video using similar lighting (continues light source of course) and now we have this splash in motion on every video tutorial (all of them if you are interested: http://goo.gl/BHhEt).

Why we liked t that much? It has eye-catching color combination, and it is an easy to remember… right?

When I entered the local grocery store yesterday these droopy, sad eyes greeted me at the door and all I could think of was how “unloved’ they must feel. It was a great image to snap a shot of thanks to the colors as well. I am really enjoying The Gift of An Ordinary Day group in Pinterest and Flickr.

Ardithian Logic #2

#project366 For the longest time I have toyed with the knowledge that I talk myself out of so much growth and progress. The little voice in my head tells me it’s too hard, it’s too painful, I’m too tired, I’m too old and on and on. It’s that self talk that I am ready to do battle with. Because I know this like I am breathing, if I don’t change that, I won’t make much change toward progress at all. I will ram a sock down that voices throat if it kills me…..because I choose to suck the marrow out of life….no matter the disability.

The Gift Of An Ordinary Day

One of my favorite Pinterest group boards is called “The Gift of An Ordinary Day” curated by +Zina Harrington It showcases the photographs from members who choose to celebrate with images of an ordinary day, which turn out to be extraordinary moments to be honest. Today, after two days of dealing with sleep studies and stress, I had lunch with a dear friend at The OK Bike Shop in our downtown area. It’s one of those quaint little pubs that the locals love and you can’t beat their fish tacos. This image pretty much captures its spirit and the mood I hope to get back to…..after some sleep that is.

Project 52 2012

For the #2012PROJECT52 the theme was Winter/Summer and I decided to play around with some abstract designs for this one. This image, of my pajama pants leg no less, hit the nail on the head for me. Is it Winter…Is it Summer? Where I live we have had 70 degrees one day and 20 degrees the next. I will take this and most likely incorporate it into a collage or a layered background, as I really love the mixture of cool tones and abstractness.

Happy New Year!

Out of all the "Take this to Heart" messages I have seen flowing in my stream the past few days I looked up and saw the one I need most hanging in my kitchen. Oscar Wilde said it best…..Be Yourself….so my journey in 2012 will be walking a path that shows me. Looking forward to this Project 52 here on G+ and interacting with many of you! Happy New Year friends, may we all find 2012 to be the year that we love ourselves as we love others!

New Orleans was great fun for Halloween, at least the day before

The night of Halloween 15 people were shot and two were killed in the French Quarter. Although we had a great time with our family, it makes me sad that we were so close to such gun violence and that anyone was hurt. I love this town and pray for the safety of the those who visit and live there.
