Two of the most tender concepts that tugs at me are the ideas of motherhood and Madonnas. Once a year I pause, breathe deeply, and spend some time reflecting on the importance of being a mother, mothering well, and the spiritual connection I have with Madonnas due to my faith. The paintings are all about that bond of mother and child, mothering the young, and those who may not be actual mothers but mother others. They are some of my most important paintings.
